Gaining on that down payment!
As of March 10, the WWTLC fund is at $267,628.84, and growing every day. Which we need it to do: WWTLC needs a minimum of $360K by April 17 to cover the $300K down payment plus expenses like lawyers and insurance, not to mention to allow them to plan a gathering on the Land.
Right now there are over 4,600 womyn on the WWTLC private Facebook page–and probably only about a thousand donors. If another thousand of us womyn were to pitch in an average of $100 each, we’d have met the current $360K goal with room to spare. Please consider making whatever donation you can afford right now, so that we can secure the Motherland and set to work on her next era.
Toni Armstrong, the WWTLC FB page admin, has just posted “the updated FAQ document. It contains what there is to know about WWTLC’s vision, process, etc.. It’s lengthy and detailed (in the interest of promised transparency). Page 1 is a table of contents with clickable links so you can jump right to the section(s) you want to read.” We highly recommend checking it out to be up on both the deepest and the latest. We can do this!
A purchase agreement signed!
WWTLC and Lisa Vogel have finalized a purchase agreement for the Land! They will close on a land contract by April 17, before which we all hope to raise as much money as possible. For the nitty-gritty, go sign up for WWTLC’s Facebook page,https://www.facebook.com/groups/WWTLC.community/. Meanwhile, think about contributing the cost of a Festival ticket to the cause, either all at once or over the next year. And stay tuned for ideas from WWTLC for other sorts of fundraising.
That rumble you hear is Amazons rising!
Lots of haps with the WWTLC fundraiser
To cut to the chase, the fund is at $246,327.25! Gaining on the amount we’ll need to make a down payment on the Land. Meanwhile, work has continued behind the scenes, and a purchase agreement is close to being signed. After that, we’ll be making a big push to get WWTLC as big a fund as possible, to close on the contract for the Land and still have some wherewithal for operating expenses.
Right now, WWTLC is running a mini-campaign called Many Hands on CrowdRise. The object is to get as many rising Amazons as possible to sign on as donors, so they are suggesting a donation many of us can afford: just $10 for this campaign. If that is not possible, you can still help by sharing the link to the campaign far and wide. Here it is:

Join in, womyn–we can do this!
Little by little…
Little by little, we are getting closer to buying the Land. As of 1/17/17: $233,925.43.
And we gather, and we rise! See you at a march this weekend.
New total
We’ve gotten to $231,926 as of 1/13/17. Great job, womyn! Keep on rising….
Latest WWTLC fund total
As of 1/6/17, we’re at $227,179.84. That’s 63% of what we project we need for a down payment on the Motherland, raised by Amazon Nation in about six weeks. We are doing this thing!
As we enter the new year…
Update on WWTLC Fundraiser
As of 12/27/16 we’re at a total of $201,931!
This is well over the Phase 1 goal of $160,000 for earnest money, but Purple and WWTLC are continuing the fundraising because we anticipate that WWTLC will be able to secure a contract for purchase of the Land in the new year–and to do that we will need a sizable down payment.
Lisa Vogel is taking care of some legalities which will work to the benefit of WWTLC’s project. But until those legal matters are settled she cannot name a definite sale price for the Land. We can use some common sense, though. Months ago LV told us the market value of the Land was between $1.3M and $3M. Looking at the low end of that range, WWTLC would need to be able to make a down payment of at least $300K to secure a contract.
So, we keep on fundraising. If for any reason WWTLC is unable to achieve a contract for purchase of the Land, donations will be returned less only unavoidable processing and administration fees and expenses necessary to pursuing the purchase.
AMAZONS RISE!
Amazons rising—and so is the fund!
Total as of the Winter Solstice:$194,355.65 and counting.
